Whittier Place is justifiably proud of the Boston Children’s School, an onsite educational program for Whittier Place children. Also, some Whittier Place parents elect to send their children to the Saint John School. Information on both is provided below.

Boston Children’s School

The Boston Children’s School, Inc. is an independent, private school located within Charles River Park at Eight Whittier Place. We offer a multi-cultural, cognitive-developmental educational program for children entering into the Pre-School, Kindergarten and Grades 1 through 3 levels. In addition, we offer a Summer Activities Program starting in June.

Our Mission is to promote the growth and development of children while also teaching them how to learn efficiently and experience the joy of learning. At the Boston Children’s School we provide a nurturing environment in which children have a broad range of opportunities to develop their individual skills.

Information about specific programs and admission can be obtained from the Director of the Boston Children’s School at 617-367-6239. The best way to know the Boston Children’s School and see children learn to love learning, is to visit with us!

Saint John School

Saint John School is located in North Square on the Freedom Trail in Boston’s historic North End. Since 1873, it has touched the lives of generations of children in the heart of a dynamic city. Originally serving the sons and daughters of newly-arriving immigrants, St. John’s faculty proudly preserves a Catholic tradition of preparing young people for the challenges and opportunities in a world of constant change.

Reaching beyond the border of a storied neighborhood, Saint John School serves students from all backgrounds and from all parts of Boston and beyond for grades K through 8. The school cherishes the diversity of its student body and takes full advantage of the cultural and educational resources of an urban setting.
